HARSHVARDHAN
Brilliance comes with discipline and discipline comes with having rules to follow. So, life without morals and rules is the antonym of brilliance.
And what is a man without brilliance? A spat in a name of MAN.
Intelligence is a trait of genetics, and despite the fact that I am blood different than Abhiraj Agnivanshi. I have claimed the right to intelligence by dedicating myself towards my uncle.
I remember being five-year old. I was standing next to my father and my uncle, it’s a blur memory, but there are clear words that still rings in my ear said by my uncle.
“A life without dignity and title that doesn’t make you proud? Is a life lived in vain.”
And every title has once been tainted. I await that even mine would be, and what situation it will be in? Is a question to ask.
Most boys in young age see their fathers as their role models or their enemies, I share neither of those bonds with mine. My father is undeniably a great father. He has gifted Idhanth the freedom he demands without ever questioning him, he have set no boundaries for him and nor there is any unrequited hate between them. In fact, they give the best friend aura. He is same with Mannat, which I surely am against but not the reason people assume it is for.
But this is not what I wanted. I don’t demand freedom to fuck around, roam around jobless, and be a social media influencer who undresses for fame. I wanted brilliance, intelligence and title with dignity. I wanted life not lived in vain.
I was young, when I saw my father become everything opposite of what I wanted and that is why I made the decision to live like my uncle.
I respect and love my father. But everything for him combined and then double it, add twice more to it is what I feel for my uncle. The great Abhiraj Agnivanshi. A living legend.
And just like the floor he walks on ends up being influenced by his greatness? I want to be name just as recognizable as him. I want to be known as the Great Harshvardhan Agnivanshi. A living legend.
The dinner table felt into screeches when the family started to pull the chairs and sat together. Dad laughed and joked on how mom and his cruise trip this summer went, I looked at Tamanna by the door and the chair I was pulling which was second seat away from Abhiraj papa. I stopped; I matched her darkened black as her soul eyes and a slow smirk appeared on my face.
Usually, it always went to papa and Taara maa both sitting on each end and I and Tamanna sitting on the chairs next to him. But since dad was here today, he will be sitting on the other end and Taara maa next to papa on one chair which only leaves one chair next to him.
Tamanna’s eyes were speaking in loud warning, And I returned it similarly “I will give you a head start for three seconds.” She glared me down, “One. . .” By the two and three she ran to me almost reached but I pulled the chair and I sat half and she ended up sitting on half.
“This side of chair has always been mine. So, I won. And I get it.” I told her, she didn’t respond and just crossed her leg, not budging and pulling the plate for chair next to her on our side.
“Fair is not play in a house of a politicians. You should know that much? Oh, wait. You are simply not cut out for it.” She is about to be a doctor; no surprise she knows which nerve to hold.
I smirked and shook my head, I stood, everyone was flabbergasted but nobody would step in between our fights. I walked behind the chair and started to vigorously shake it, she yelled, almost falling off the chair. Everyone were to stand in her defence when I did not even stop after her low pitch scream. But she ended up standing because she was almost to fall. And Tamanna would never fall. “Now? Since, fair isn’t stopping me anymore.”
“Aadu? From your last visits, you have forgotten too many things behind. Why don’t you take them back with you this time.” That’s her last resort? Not a great charmer in front of me, is she. She stood with her plate and went around the table and sat down where papa hadn’t sat yet. “If I don’t get to sit next to him nor do you.”
She sat down on the head fucking chair.
Everyone wanted to revolt or speak something but she already started to take bite of her food, one gulp and then she pushed her shoulder back and crossed her hand. Papa standing next to maa.
I watched him standing and I couldn’t disrespect him this way. I inhaled heavily and stood with my plate. “Sit.” I gritted to her and went to the next chair of maa. Tamanna stood and came at the seat of the evening.
But Abhiraj papa took his and Taara maa’s plates and went by the two-seater sofa and sat there, fair will always be a word in play of Abhiraj Agnivanshi. Because he has underwent the taint once.
This is the reason for such great admirations I have for him.
I am nothing, if not all my righteousness.
I watched Taara maa follow on his footstep and she sat beside him too. “Having good time ruining dinner for everyone?” I watched my dad taunting me. And I raised a brow and was surprised.
how come seat that is already mine, demanding it is wrong?
But I did not argue with him. He is older, it won’t stand correct for me to, despite the fact that I am right here.
Tamanna continued to sit in her place and have her food not caring anymore about any seat. She could have just avoided the drama completely then, why make a big deal out of nothing. I sat where I was, and everyone ate at their respective places.
Families. I love the concept if I just extract few unrequited people out of it. And I dream to have one big family of my own one day. My eyes travelled across the table to where maa followed blindly where papa paved the path. And have a wife who will walk with me to the obscurity of life without questioning where we are going.
I want a happy marriage for myself. I want my children to have arguments over who gets to sit next to me. And I want my favourite one to win, and when he doesn’t, I will also sit on the sofa instead.
~~~~~~~
I entered where Papa and Maa were sitting in maa’s study because papa when not working is with Taara maa. As my daily habit I went to the couch maa was sitting on and lied down with my head on her lap. She shoved her fingers in my tangled-gel hair immediately like habit.
Papa was at maa’s desk going through something on his phone. “You skipped lunch today?” Maa queried and I nodded. “May I ask why?” I opened my eyes.
“I was out.”
“Where were you? Because if your papa was on leave for lunch, I think nothing should stop you and Devrat,” She further interrogated. I pinched my lips. She stopped her hand midway and frowned. “Vardhan, where were you?” She asked suspiciously and at this even papa stopped and stared at me.
“I was just out for lunch with someone, and it is not that way! I hope you understand that.”
“Who was it?” She questioned curiously, “Just. . .” I did not continue and she smirked.
“Are you seeing someone Harshvardhan?” He asked me directly. He did not prefer to drag it at all. “No!” I replied just as instant. Not for him to get the wrong idea.
I am not sure how papa would react to my that side of lifestyle if I ever drew one. Because I have been obedient my entire life and sincere, and innocent.
“Okay, because actually the parties you attended this summer with me, there are so many potential Rishta’s for you. Infact, they sent me the compilation if you don’t mind, I will show you all the girls and families who requested a bond with you. We are not saying you must select someone but just that it was offered.”
I sat straight, I am more that interested, “I would like to see. . .” I tried to act casual on it. “Though I will say, I don’t think this is the right time for you. You are just 21. As much I am against Devrat being thrown in a relationship when he barely understands himself. I am just as against for you.” He clarified and I nodded.
“I understand you papa.” I acted, but it still irks me somewhere that papa found a girl for Devrat and authoritatively he betrothed him meanwhile he never felt that he can have that Haq on me, Haq I am working so hard to earn from him.
He casted his iPad screen to the TV across the room. And there was a whole pdf with biodata and photos, Instagram ID and other detail.
He showed the first one, “This is Adhira Kashyap, her father is a government official at good position, he recently transferred here. He is holding onto the raid officers on leash.”
He clicked on her Instagram profile link and shifted to the web page scrolling across to show her photo. She was a decent looking girl, she seems to have black hair and her eyes was brown from distance if I presume. I watched before he returned to the pdf and scrolled down to the biodata section.
She has done MBA and is working in a reputed firm. “I want housewife. She can do business if she wants but I want her to look after my home, raise our kids, like Taara maa always did so brilliantly.” I announced, “I don’t think a job-minded person will be much happy about my ideas,”
I know I was harsh with my words when Taara maa glared at me from distance but I gulped and continued to evaluate the screen, “That kicks off so many candidates on the list,” He clustered and went scrolling until stopped on a new name.
“This is Sharvari Kaushik, she is also a business man’s daughter, good friends of Rajput’s and Daira’s good friend, she seems to major in nothing special, basic education, no job and business school plans and ideas as such portrayed so far, I have met her, she seems like a great kid.” He debriefed, showed the Instagram ID, she was a petite girl, with longer than horse tail hair braided and simple, dressed too simple. “Girls this basic still exist?”
“Basic?” Taara maa mouthed in rage, and I gulped and rephrased, “Like innocent and pure, unlike I hate all men in world kind.”
She shook her head in disbelief and wrecked my arm with a small hit, “Malishka Chaudhary, she is fashion designer, has her own boutique and most women from our industry visits her. She is Raghav Chaudhary’s daughter,” He ended the last note.
“Raghav Chaudhary as in the owners from Chaudhary Jewellers?” I am a good eligible bachelor. “Yes.”
He opened the photos; well God blessed her with everything in life except beauty aspects.
Everyone remained silent and opted not to speak, well, I was the great speaker awaited here. And I don’t want to hurt any girl’s uniqueness based on my personal preferences. “She doesn’t seem like my type.” I politely declined.
No questions asked, no eyes raised, we changed into new name, but while passing by downwards, I stopped papa, “Wait. Is that a Rajput daughter?” I asked, read the name. Aayatee Ekvarthya Rajput.
“Yes, she is out of my personal preference for you. We already have one connection with Rajput’s; I don’t want anything more.” He was about to scroll.
“But his marriage isn’t a contract deal for you Abhiraj. If he likes her then. . .” She strolled of and papa returned to her profile. “No, I agree with papa. We don’t need it. And as much marriage is important for all other reasons, it is an alliance, and I want a different and beneficial one.” He stopped and changed the screen.
He showed next and until we established there were nobody good on the list currently. We returned for dinner, had the mandatory family dinner before we retired in our rooms.
In distance by my room, I saw somebody sitting in garden. It was Devrat.
I had two paths to take, one to sleep and one to ruin somebody’s sleep. Of course, being the nice and good man I am. I do what soothes the world.
I descended the stairs and I went towards where he was sitting. He had a scotch bottle in his side, glass, ice and his phone with its screen lighting brightly.
“I believed you learnt not much from. . . well forgetting your fiancé in a restaurant after you promised to see her on your birthday and rather had a bar party and turned drunkard.” Single testament with all the right words. He turned around, looked at me and then making a disgusted face, before I can sit beside him, he kept his glass on that area.
I smirked, I picked it up and drank his neat before he snatched it from my hand. “Why bother keeping the ice for show if you going to pretend being a tough man?” He drank another sip and I smirked, “If we were ancient Romans, this would have been considered an indirect kiss brother.”
He closed his eyes and opened it again, “I want little peace. We can continue this insults saga some other day.”
He is always so calm, it feels impossible to believe he would ever have outraged. “You are too far fetched to be Maa and Papa’s child.” I shook my head and rested back on the seat. “Maa and papa were showing me some potential matches portfolios I received after my summer party visits. They were quite many, I am tired to have so many options to reject, you understand my pain?” I watched his Adam’s apple slide before he turned to me.
“Can we not drag her in this? She isn’t present here and nor she deserves degrading words by someone like you.”
“Ah, I am not degrading her. I am just whining about my uncertain life structure. I mean, I wish I had someone destined from birth so this heaviness to find the perfect match would be lifted from my back. You understand? Because then, I will have to accept whatever I am offered.”
I believe, I am a little doctor myself with the great grasp on nerves.
“I believe everyone is perfect in their own way,” He spoke and then started to stand but I held his hand and made him sit back. “Of course they are! But what if she is too obsessive with me? While I am a man of good distance?”
I am not. I want my wife to cling on my face all day. I know who is, and it hit him too much, he cleared his glass in a single shot and he raised his brow to me and head switch. “Harshvardhan. I shall remind you once again. We are enemies on the battle field, and all is fair in love and war. Except her. She is off limit, stating, doing, planning things and using her in order to our personal reasons is unacceptable. I will come for you either way, but the density of my hurting you shifts to great height and ground hell when she is in consideration here.” He started to leave. I have no intent to hurt that sweet girl.
“The way you are? I don’t think I will need to lift a finger for destroying her. You have always been an alone capable man, Devrat. Proudly, you will stand capable in this as well.” He stopped in the distance,
I smirked filling the scotch in the glass and I started to pass by him, “How was the birthday party? Just good drinks and great music?” I did not stop to see his reaction because I know exactly what brew.
~~~~~~
As I am old enough to make business deals and responsible enough here, I was.
The deal was in brothel today, and as much as I love the concept of marriage, I hate the idea of fooling around.
I entered Samaira Rajput’s brothel and at just my entrance in the arena, I saw Eraya standing. All the bitterness in the family aside, she was surely a girl to have for the rest of your life.
She politely smiled at me while she sat on the back stage chair but visible from the arena’s entrance. I instantly went to her, “Hii!” She smiled and extended her hand for a handshake as formally as possible but I took it and kept a small peck on its back.
“Gorgeous!” She took back her hand and typed in her phone, “Always such a charmer!”
“And yet you never take my proposals seriously?”
I felt some man walking behind me towards the private quarter areas. The aura felt too similar, and voice made it clear, “She is Aaryaman’s chick! Vanshi! Back of her!” I turned to find Rajput king’s son smirk and walk ahead while the statement was passed by his friends! Eklavya quiet and only laughed.
“Fuck off before I make you capable to be nobody’s man.” They were already 0ff to the corridors of the brothel. I returned to her; she really has to take many men’s shits being here and being so perfect that everyone who sees her instantly starts to see future with her. She thankfully did not hear what he said nor have the opportunity to read the lips. She typed, “What did he say?”
“That you are too good for me and that’s why you won’t accept me.”
She waved her hands away, “Ridiculous! You are too good for me. I am a mute girl with no real degree and am not absurdly rich.” She typed,
And I joked, “If we have already established that! Just accept your marvellous luck and accept my proposals.” Cocky, she made a pout.
“You are never serious.”
“I am 100% right now, should I take it as a, yes?” I asked and she stirred her head.
“Quarter no.4, They are waiting for you,” She typed and waved me, I laughed her off and walked by the quarter room.
I had to pass by an open quarter door, it was Rajvanshi and friends’ room and while moving by, the far-off distance yet I saw a girl bent head down on the table with all her hair covering her face and she was too close to the table and when I crossed over, I was called out and I stopped.
The girl sharply inhaled whatever she had on the table and jerked her head back, still invisible face. “Sorry about this douche! Take her. I would tell Aaryaman it’s not fun to fuck mutes! Dead body vibes, you know?” His small intent to piss me off more by comparing his fucks to that innocent girl.
And before I could ignore or reply this asshole, the girl sat straight, stood, stumbled being completely high on drugs and replied on behalf, “Or you just simply have smallest dick in the world that she had no reactions to give.” She picked the glass of drinks from the table and started to approach the door, stumbling
And ended up over me with her glass.
Crystal black eyes, black hair, and covered in heavy smoke smell, alcohol smell and high. Drugs high.
